DOLLAR TREE DIY AND A BEAUTIFUL WREATH:

If you have been following my blog for any length of time, then you that I LOVE shopping at my local Dollar Tree!

As much as I enjoy shopping in the big box craft stores, the Dollar Tree is a great place to find cute items, and craft supplies, without spending tons of money! Plus, the best part, is that you can find tons of cute Dollar Tree seasonal items that are perfect for all of those holiday DIY projects!

For instance, if you’ve been in Dollar Tree lately I KNOW you’ve seen all the Easter decorations and Easter Supplies!! Everything this year is just too adorable whether it’s the Easter tree (yes, they have their own mini tree), plastic Easter eggs, or Easter garlands. However, my favorite item out of the whole bunch has been these CARROTS!!

Twine carrots may not sound like much but when you get 6 for $1.25, the possibilities are endless!

So, if you are looking at these little guys and are wondering what Easter projects to make, then I have a DIY wreath for you!

DOLLAR TREE EASTER CRAFT: CARROT WREATH

If you have never made your own wreath using Dollar Store items, then you are missing out! You can create the perfect wreath for your front door and nobody would know that it came from the Dollar Tree. For example, during this Facebook Live, I made a gorgeous DIY summer wreath using a pool noodle and some seasonal wall decor!

However, before we get too excited about Summer, today I will be showing you how to create a wreath that is perfect for the Easter season. Plus, since there is nothing too Eastery about it, this wreath can easily be used as a cute decoration for the spring as well!

This fun wreath is simple to make, uses inexpensive supplies, and doesn’t involve using a fancy wreath frame. This is because we will be making our wreath base out of a piece of chipboard! – And, if that is not good enough, we will be decorating it with those cute carrots that you can get at your local Dollar Tree store!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Dollar Tree Easter Craft: Easy Carrot Wreath DIY - The Kingston Home (2)
  • four (4) packs Dollar Tree Carrots
  • recycled cardboard – can be a shipping box, cereal box, etc
  • orange acrylic paint – I used DecoArt Lantern Orange but you could use any orange paint colors you have on hand.
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • paintbrush
  • orange and green markers – You could also use a brush pen, if you pefer.
  • 2.5″ wired ribbon
  • 1/8″ coordinating ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Free Printable Carrot wreath and price tag pattern

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE WREATH FORM:

When it comes to your local Dollar Store, they will most likely have a few wreath forms that you can pick from. However, for this easy project, I decided to use cardboard to make my wreath instead of buying an actual wreath form. Doing this not only saved me money, but it was a much better way to attach my carrots.

Now, if you don’t want to use a cardboard wreath, I would recommend using a thin foam wreath and not a wire wreath form. This is because the carrots need a solid base to stick to and using a wire wreath form, in this case, might be more tricker. Finally, if you decide to use a foam wreath, I would recommend using Tacky Glue and NOT hot glue in step 3.
