We were out there for the Horace Lions club bingo event! It was packed with a lot of fun people! Family type atmosphere, kids are there playing bingo with their parents and everyone had a good time!

Brewzers is a fun and lively place. Family friendly all day. My Grandson goes nuts running around in there. And the girls that work there..... Phenomenal!!!! Foods good. Drinks amazing. Small town atmosphere like no other.

Definitely worth checking out! We took the short drive from Fargo and were impressed with the menu and the atmosphere. Had the special (pizza burger) and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back

Busy place for a Sunday. Their fresh breaded and fried chicken is excellent. I selected the 3 piece, which was more than enough. Service was friendly and helpful with recommendations. If you're in the area, I'd recommend Brewzers.

Was there for a poker tournament. Between the 60 poker players and roughly 50 other customers the staff was very fast and was stopping by our table very often to keep drinks in our hands. Had steak bites and they were dynamite!!

Historical stop. Worth a visit. Great historical facts that won’t take up a lot of your time. It’s amazing that there are still remnants of the original fort fence.

Located adjacent to the Red River (boundary between North Dakota and Minnesota) this fort was the first one in North Dakota. It has quite a history that was interesting to make the trip worthwhile. Nice side trip.

It's an interesting place, but just a few small fences and corner guard towers and one small building, but they did not restore much else. Good plaques around the site showing where the buildings were and explaining the history. There is not much to see here, except the museum. But it's a must visit for anyone who is interested in the 1862 conflict.

I am very impressed with how well maintained the property is. The structures are in great shape and the the missing structures are marked clearly by posts to allow you to visualize the entirety.

We decided to make a quick detour to check out Fort Abercombie, it was well worth the visit! It is free to visit and do the self guided tour. However, please take the time to do the paid guided tour, it was interesting, informative, and our tour guide kept all ages in our group entertained. Well worth the price for adults and children. It was far more than just a few wooden buildings on grassland. The knowlege of all staff was amazing, and they were able to explain things in a relatable way. They even had the children visiting the hisorical site interacting and playing pioneer games that were played during the fort times. The site has been beautifully maintained and the grounds were nice to explore. This ended up being more than a quick trip as there was more to do and learn than we had thought!

A great way to spend 1+ hrs. touring the small museum and old fort grounds. The tour is worthwhile and very informative. The staff is super friendly!

Great zoo with alot of good exhibits and nice walk ways some construction going on. New cheetah exhibit and tiger cage coming this fall. Alot of great animals for kids to watch or even feed the birds. Small petting zoo to go through as well. It's 50cents for a small handful of feed. But still great for kids. Don't forget to ride the carousel!

We love the Chahinkapa Zoo! I take my daycare crew there a few times in the summer months and I always feel impressed by the ample amount of trees for shading. Even on days the line is longer, it takes little to no time to get in, we pack our lunchboxes and eat just outside of the zoo before we go in as there are picnic benches near by. It's always a highlight of our week and the kiddos talk about it for a long time! We prefer it over any surrounding area zoos as there are more animals and lots of greenery. They even have a cute sandbox filled with fun things to do if you need to take a little break. We also go every year for Tal the orangutans birthday party and that's always exciting as they let us decorate his cage and we watch him open gifts and snack on peanut butter! ☺️👍🏼

The Chahinkapa Zoo is a lot of fun. We especially love seeing Tal the Orangutan, the Cheetahs, Rhinos, gibbons and the Fossa. The employees are all sweet.

One of the most incredible zoos I’ve ever been to. Staff was friendly and informative. The animals were interactive and close! We felt very safe walking through here while also experiencing being up close to the animals. It was almost like the animals were happy to see you! Would recommend if you’re looking for a wonderful experience that is fair priced.

Cute little zoo! Some of the animals have cages which are quite small and it's a bit sad, but they do have a nice variety of animals. The otters are sooooo adorable and they have cute peaco*cks roaming around. A nice walk around the zoo, and several different cool big cats, we saw the cougars mating 😂

The most wonderful zoo that I have ever been to!! Small and mighty!! I love sending photos of my walks through the zoo with Rhinos, cheetah, zebras, orangutans, Grizzly bears, snow leopards and so much more!! I love the persona touch of Cathy and Tom and all the trainers and zoo keepers. It truly is a magical place and it is amazing that it is right in the middle of our community!! It's the Gem of Wahpeton!!!

We arrived here about mid morning. Nice small zoo. They had a ridiculous amount of signs on their exhibits though. Some of the enclosures were too small for some of the animals. They had a couple of animals that I haven't seen before.

Great zoo for a visit alone or with company. Very clean, nicely shaded in areas, gift shop, snacks and refreshments, nice selection of well kept animals.

Beautiful zoo with lots of animals. Lush landscape, lovely, shaded walking paths throughout. You're able to get close to all the animals, which is great for young kid viewing. There's a sandbox under a nice shade tree with benches nearby for a quick rest. The turtle enclosure allows for your little one to ditch the stroller and safely stretch their legs. We had fun naming each of the large turtles, including "Speedy," who really does move quite fast! Such a fun day, and really lovely zoo.

Amazing zoo, the staff are friendly and animals are so fun to see. Recommend going in the morning or later afternoon as the animals are more active. Extremely excited to see all the new animals this spring!

Fascinating historic place, one of a kind in the world worthy of its National Historic status. One of the main preservationists, Virginia, gave us a tour and background of buildings, contents and original owners and their family. Great homemade pie in the barn capped off the day.

Thoroughly delightful!! We enjoyed a wonderful and informative tour on a fine afternoon - it was interesting to see the facilities, along with all the items still available - tools, canceled checks and accounting ledgers, kitchen items, etc., and hear the stories about the farm and occupants. And we especially enjoyed having a slice of rhubarb custard pie in the barn/cafe after the tour!!!

It's wonderful to see people preserving such a wonderful site. I had no idea what Bonanza farming was before arriving. Virginia, our tour guide, was very knowledgable and clearly had a love of the farm. At the end you have to try the pie, it is so amazing!! I highly recommend visiting this lovely gem!

Wish I could have toured it but it was closed for a wedding and wasn't listed anywhere on the website or Facebook little disappointed as I've wanted to visit for ages but oh well guess I'll have to try and go back another time and hope it's open

Interesting and sad part of history as a Monument to circus performers who died by being struck by lighting while setting up the tent pole during a storm.. not much else to see in the cemetery so you shouldn't drive from far away just to see this but if you are driving through it's pretty interesting.

A great tribute to the circus workers. Pay your respect and stop.

Rooms are great and beds are so comfortable. The casino has really opened up so there's more room to walk around in. They have also added more new slot machines by getting rid of the older ones. So much fun! Highly recommended!

Didn't stay in a room. They were booked because it was Tesla and Lita Ford. Concert was great but the service for beer wasn't. Got cold beer but didn't get a bag with ice. Not ready in time. Maybe start earlier to set up.

Gas station attendant will steal your free gas voucher. At first I figured honest mistake. After a few more tries it's clear to me it's intentional now. I always have a 10$ voucher. Go in and he says its good. Yet charged full amount every time I've gotten gas there.

Very nice staff. When I walked to the counter( no one else there) it took what seemed like forever to get someone to acknowledge me.The computer system was down they finally informed me The carpet and TV were way old.It's right on the ND/ SD state line, and they have a 24 convenience store on the same property.The value was amazing though.

I've gone here 3 different times now to cash sports bet tickets and "they don't have anyone who can cash the tickets". They shouldn't have a sports book. They can't support it. Find a different place to bet.

My husband was there for 3 nights and 4 days working in the area. He ended up getting bedbug bites.. several. First thought it was mosquitoes but got several more bites the next night…nonstop itching. Called the manager a few times and finally got a call back. They said they looked at the room and went through their procedures…but could not see the bug infestation , so they were unwilling to do anything at that time, but I would certainly caution you as to staying here.

The gaming is adequate. Don't go if you are irritated by the smell of cigarettes smoke. It is better than it used to be - but not good.

I really enjoy coming to this casino. It's never too crowded. Even though you can smoke throughout the casino, I have never had issues with not being able to handle the smoke (I do not smoke and have asthma).

What a fun stop for us. We ate lunch where the food was good and staff were friendly. Everything was clean, lots of parking and customer service was so welcoming when we entered the building. Especially when they saw our identical twin baby boys. This was the perfect place to stop after a long day of driving.

Machines were very tight 2 day lucky 2 even get a playback but they were constantly wiping the machines down so that was good

Yuck….smoke smell smacks you immediately upon entering. The only reprieve was the grill. Grill food was plentiful yet underwhelming, not creative & greasy. Both Service & cashier was beyond underwhelming. They were out of chicken wings early on the weekend. I can’t think of a reason to stop here to eat or gamble.

Casino sucks- obviously gambling doesn't always go well. But it's nice for golfing, the course is maintained and fun. They even let us go out when it was raining so we could finish. Staff was friendly!

We are in ND visiting family in Fargo and yesterday we decided to take the 55 min drive to Dakota Magic Casino so we didn’t stay at the hotel. We had a blast! Buffet was closed, but their bbq brisket and reuben meals at the restaurant were delicious and reason!! Very clean place! We were happy to see the staff was cleaning and sanitizing the slots constantly. The best part of our visit was all the slots we hadn’t played before and we actually hit a jackpot!! Fun time….

Very nice building. They have late-night food options plus a restaurant. Friendly staff. Good time for a night out. Great drinks. They offer to add hazelnuts to the colorado bulldogs, which I highly recommend.

I have had a wine delivery subscription from With the Wind for a couple years now. Have loved all of their wines and their gorgeous bottles. We traveled down to the area. Stayed at a local B & B in Hankinson, ND called Lady on the Lake, which is also an amazing place. I had called ahead to make sure they were open their regular hours. Winters are sometimes different. Good signs to follow and easy to find. Their grounds and building are very nicely kept up and clean. The building would be great to host fun events in. Lisa, coowner, was there to serve us. They has different options to try samples, try every kind available, by the glass, meat and cheese, chocolates, and beer too. She was very friendly and gladly talked about their beginnings, improvements, and any questions about the wine. Definately recommend the trip out to visit them.

Some of the best sweet wines I've ever tasted in a gorgeous farm in the midwest. The prices were incredible, and so was the service. I'll be coming back and this is a must visit for anyone in the area.

Definitely a beautiful area the few times I have been there for an afternoon to hike/sight see. The valley area is very unique with the water running out of the earth and all the lush green hills. Not to far from the interstate if you are passing through. Ok hiking and trails. It has a nice horse camp but no regular camping and lacks in an overall upkeep. Unfortunately I was struck by the amount of trash laying around the trails. And not just one person could have done it... It was very odd and ruined the mystique. I never have come close too seing so much garbage around at any park.

Beautiful, densely wooded forest tucked into a hillside that has some interesting history behind it. The topography is not typical of South Dakota which makes Sica Hollow that much more enjoyable of an escape and a great place to see some fall foliage. This is a small park with an $8 per vehicle/per day fee and the "Horse Trail" perimeter loop clocks in under 7 miles total length. There are some steep inclines that can get challenging in places, especially when the trail is muddy after rain, but it is a moderate hike at most that will take a few hours. Those with families or not wanting to overexert themselves will enjoy the shorter "Trail of the Spirits" wooded walk (about 1 mile in length) that starts right at the Northeast entrance to the park.

Really nice oasis in the middle of a hot prairie. Has a small trickling creek running through, a couple hiking trails and a horse trail. Also has a couple of reservation campsites. There is a daily fee to use the park, it is pay-on-your-own.

Trails were well kept, new stairs and landings built.Not enough parking for the amount of visitors on fall weekends though, a lot of visitors coming for fall colors.No toilet paper in the toilet vaults.

Nice quiet park, good amount of trails to hike. In and out through some grasslands and forest. Would recommend wear waterproof boots. There can be some wet or really muddy spots. I always feel good after visiting here.

Sturdy tower, well maintained. Amazing views. The info center was clean, pleasantly well stocked with local history books. The reproduction of Nicollet's map was fascinating!

Way more interesting than expected for a random stop at a tourist spot!The center had a gorgeous exhibit on Native American art in public spaces and small stories from elderly locals about items that were mundane when they were young and no longer in use today.The tower was a lot of fun! Beautiful views and interesting history.

Modern, well maintained and staffed building that is open from dawn to dusk. Attached pictures show the grounds and inside of the building. This is worth the 5 minute drive off the Interstate. Amazing views and so easy to get to. 96 steps to the top. No bathroom if the center is closed. Not handicap accessible to the top.

Campsite was beautiful, right on the lake. But the lake smelled like sewage and was bright green. The swimming beach was covered with seaweed and algae. Despite my best judgment my kids and I tried swimming and it was gross - smelly and the water felt. . . thick. There were very few trails and nowhere to bike so we got bored without swimming. as an option. We did enjoy a lovely sunset and stargazing later, which is the only reason this park garnered a 2nd star.

I really enjoyed my visit to this park. It's small but it has trails with beautiful prairie views. You can see tons of wildflowers at the right time of year.I had noticed that in some previous reviews they had mentioned a horrible smell, this is not the case anymore.For those of you that collect pins, patches and/or stickers the main office was fully stocked on all sorts of fun goodies and pamphlets that you could use for the Park and the surrounding area.I definitely plan on going again before the summer is out!

We are trying to do all the state parks and this one fell a little short. Only because there wasn't much hiking for us to do. They only have like two trails and it's in the open field. They are pretty and the camper grounds look very clean. But for us the trails are important.

It has a nice boat launch but only 6 or 7 parking spots. The fishing was good straight out from the park. The office employee was very nice and helpful. The campground looks nice also, but I didn't camp here. Lots of deer and pheasants.

Truly a hidden gem! Beautiful country! Great hiking trails! Check it!

Kinda basic for a MN state park. Not much for trails or amenities. It feels like it is forgotten or neglected in the park system. Has a decent day use area and campground along the lake. It has boat access and some decent views and vistas in otherwise bland area of the state. If you want to stay on Big Stone lake go across to the other side. Hartford Beach park on the SD side looks to be a way better option for this lake.

This is a beautiful place to camp, right on the Minnesota river. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. Very well kept. I will highly recommend this State Park.

We had a great experience with Cory At Wauby Guide Service, very knowledgeable, great equipment, and had a wonderful time catching fish!

Just the greatest ice fishing guide service I've ever been to!! Cory is really nice and patient with booking a reservation. Casey the guide was very polite, patient and knowledgeable, we definitely learned some new skills.Will DEFINITELY book another trip.

Aaron worked his butt off showing 9 of us out for some Walleye and Perch, on the coldest weekend of the year, it was tough fishing but we found some fish, we all recommend and will be out again

I like to come here during my birthday month to get some free spending money. I went during the crab leg buffet and the price has definitely gone up, $50 a person, yikes! The buffet itself wasn't really worth it unless you only want crab legs, everything else was subpar. I also wish it didn't stink so much like cigarette smoke. I've been to many casinos and like the ones who have smoking and non-smoking areas.

Birthday promo was available. There was a second promo I believe for being a new customer? I won a $5 drink voucher and $20 free play on select machines. It was a fun time.

Room amenities as in coffee weren't that plentiful but the room was extra clean and comfy. The game floor played well and we got our bang for our buck. Fun over all stay and great staff.

Won't be back. First off the rooms need to be fresher. It says 2 star hotel. We would say 1 star. Thermostat in room didn't work. Toilet seat was about to fall off. And, for 2 people there was only one very small skinny bar of soapfor showering and washing hands. Not everyone wants to use body wash. And finally for the hotel receptionist Dawn, to put it nicely was VERY rude. I would like to say rude in a different manner.... As for the casino, it's too smokey. If you don't like second hand smoke, don't go there. Also, we have been to a lot of casinos and these machines are only money grabbers. Can't even get a bonus. Final comment is that this is a very poor establishment to come to.

Beds were comfortable. The sheets were not fresh.I've never been anywhere where I've seen so many people unhappy about their jobs. There wasn't 1 employee that was happy to be there. Awful customer service!

I love this casino's one of my favorites when I'm working in the area, the only problem is they need to get different ATM machines, you are limited to 500, can't take out from your savings or credit card. This is the first casino I've seen do this, you think they would make more money without the cap on your funds, I think its time for new management.Over-all great machines people friendly. GET NEW ATM MACHINES!!!!!

Bramble Park Zoo is an excellent zoo to enjoy lots of animals, local history, and a beautiful landscape. Visitors are welcomed by a small museum that focuses on the area's past.Inside the zoo, they have a nice variety of animals (e.g. big cats, bear, primates, bison, kangaroo, sloth, etc.). They also have many playareas for kids to get out some extra energy and picnic areas. Not as exciting, they have plenty of shaded seating for the adults.Pro tip: Take a photo of the map in the gift shop. They no longer provide paper copies.

Great little zoo for all, but particularly the kids.My grandkids loved the activities even more than the animals. Milking the "cow", driving the stationary truck and tractors and playing with the "welcome to touch" exhibits.

We took our 4 year old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter. We not only enjoyed seeing the animals but they had fun hauling wood in the wheel barrows and playing in the different play areas. There's a lot to see and do!

I enjoyed this zoo very much! I saw animals I hadn't ever seen before. I was able to get closer to the animals than in some other zoos. I do wish the big cats had a little more room though. Staff working at the zoo were friendly. Restrooms were clean. We were able to walk the entire zoo in about 1.5 hours.

If you're expecting a big-city zoo, you'll be disappointed. However, when you take into consideration the size of the local community (and the climate here in the winter) then Bramble Park can be considered above average! The parrots were fun and I saw a playful fight between a Kangaroo and an Ostrich. I felt sorry for the Tiger who didn't stop pacing the same area in his pen the whole time I was there- seemed exhausted and stressed. Make sure to check out the indoor history exhibit which gives some more background on northeast South Dakota if you're not from the area. Place was set up for families with a petting zoo but didn't get to experience that on my own.

Very well taken care of zoo, and animals seem well cared for as well. There was a lot to see as well as multiple play areas for kids to stop at and a cute little petting zoo area.Concessions were okay - our main concern was food dyes which was in 90% of their options, but I'm sure most people wouldn't have an issue with that so I'm not marking it down for it. Just noting for others 😊

It was very enjoyable, well laid out, and super fun for kids! They can run and see all the interesting zoo residence. There is a fun park with activities for them to play in, and they can get close to animals they otherwise may never get to. The young girl at the gift center was very kind and polite, and the talking co*ckatoo was hilarious!

I visited the Redlin Art Center when I drove to Watertown. I was greeted cheerfully and warmly with my numerous questions. The gift shop is a super stop for anyone looking for gifts and nice selections of locally made chocolates and other indulgences including wine! I brought a typewriter into the lobby with permission and was treated to a tour of the area where offices are held. There’s so much to see and enjoy at this fabulous jewel of eastern South Dakota. I greatly encourage a visit, walk all floors and see the displays, get a close look at the many thoughtful touches put into this amazing collection of artwork. There are works for sale, cards, prints, interesting perspectives and well-lit paintings everywhere. There’s benches to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while you wait for a loved one to take in the art. Terry Redlin is a treasure to our country, and his prolific talent is not to be missed!

Not sure this place really needs any more reviews. It is a 4.9 out of 5. That said, pondering Terry Redlin’s paintings is a worthy use of your time and the fact that it is free admission means nobody should pass on this one. The staff were also EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable. Go. You won’t regret it.

Redlin Art Center features original and prints of Terry Redlin’s artwork. Museum is three levels with two gift shops. Paintings are well-organized, with short descriptions underneath each frame that detail the inspiration behind the artwork.Staff is friendly & helpful. Gift shops have a wide variety of Terry Redlin-inspired items for everyone. Museum is very clean, even the bathrooms. Admission is free.

Great art gallery to visit, I love the attention to detail in the paintings. Currently free to get in. We went during the week in October and it wasn’t very busy which gave us a lot of time to roam around at our own pace. They do have a gift store to buy some prints and other things. I will be going back again.

Not only are there many of his original paintings on display here, but the way they are presented is very nice as well.There are informative videos to watch, and a short film too. It's neat to hear the back story to some of his work.Everything in the building is beautiful, and the grounds outside are just as impressive.This is a MUST see if you are ever in the area!!

I love to stop in here when traveling I 29. The folks here are extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The center houses some gorgeous paintings by the artist Redlin. It is a peaceful walk through the center. The gift shops are nice. I e purchased a couple of the wines and have enjoyed them. This is a great place to visit.

There’s benches to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while you wait for a loved one to take in the art. Terry Redlin is a treasure to our country, and his prolific talent is not to be missed!

Not sure this place really needs any more reviews. It is a 4.9 out of 5. That said, pondering Terry Redlin’s paintings is a worthy use of your time and the fact that it is free admission means nobody should pass on this one. The staff were also EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable. Go. You won’t regret it.

Redlin Art Center features original and prints of Terry Redlin’s artwork. Museum is three levels with two gift shops. Paintings are well-organized, with short descriptions underneath each frame that detail the inspiration behind the artwork.Staff is friendly & helpful. Gift shops have a wide variety of Terry Redlin-inspired items for everyone. Museum is very clean, even the bathrooms. Admission is free.

Great art gallery to visit, I love the attention to detail in the paintings. Currently free to get in. We went during the week in October and it wasn’t very busy which gave us a lot of time to roam around at our own pace. They do have a gift store to buy some prints and other things. I will be going back again.

Absolutely incredible place!! Not only are there many of his original paintings on display here, but the way they are presented is very nice as well.There are informative videos to watch, and a short film too. It's neat to hear the back story to some of his work.Everything in the building is beautiful, and the grounds outside are just as impressive.This is a MUST see if you are ever in the area!!

Words can't explain how beautiful his painting's are. 3 levels of his collections and paintings. You'll be in awe I promise! 2 gift shops to visit, an amphitheater where he explains his painting's, etc. This is a must see for sure!

I love to stop in here when traveling I 29. The folks here are extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautiful. The center houses some gorgeous paintings by the artist Redlin. It is a peaceful walk through the center. The gift shops are nice. I e purchased a couple of the wines and have enjoyed them. This is a great place to visit.

Good place to camp in campground 2 during the week as it was very quiet (not many people there). I do wish we got a spot closer to the bathroom though as we had to bike or used the vault toilets which were clean. Showers were very nice and spacious. Wide spots which is nice if you have a slide out. Offers 50, 30, and 15 Amp service. Hiking trails were alright, but short and just go around the campgrounds. Many pelicans and comorants on the lake and a great place to kayak!

Campsites are spacious. Great trails. Kayak, canoe, paddleboard rentals with 2 different lakes to launch in. Beach. Disc golf course is good for beginners. Nice boat launch area.

Beautiful, spacious park.Pros: Wonderful place to camp and hike. The playgrounds are great, volleyball sand courts, basketball court, etc. The trails are beautiful and peaceful and doable by bike or walking and stroller friendly. The campground and bathrooms are some of the most well maintained we have come across. The showers were newly redone.Cons: shallow lake with no fish biting while we were there and sea weedy and rocky swim area.

Very nice well maintained state park.Perfect to getaway, relax, enjoy the natural beauty. Water surrounds connected finger like sections of land covered by grass and trees. There are easy hiking trails to explore, fun playgrounds for the kids, nice picnic areas to eat at, surprisingly clean bathrooms, and many nice camp sites for RVs, tents, and cabinsThe shallow lake is well suited for small boats, kayaks and canoe's. While you technically can swim or fish in the merky water, I'd avoid it because it has runoff with fertilizer, pesticides and manure from nearby farms.As with all state parks, at the entrance you must buy either a day pass ($8) or present your state wide season pass.

Small museum just inside South Dakota State University campus! There aren't a lot to see but the Harvey Dunn exhibit is amazing! Entry is free and that's a good thing😁

The exhibition itself is wonderful. The parking lot is far away. The handicap ramp is long and awkward and a hard walk.

We have been there many times. A wonderful experience. We took grandkids to show them both Howe and Dunn paintings. The Oscar Howe exhibit was great but there were only 3 Harvey Dunn's on display which was disappointing. I know it was due to having room for Howe's works but Dunn is a major draw. You should display more Dunn's and fewer other artists while the Howe exhibit is there.

Simply stunned by this garden. The annual plantings balanced with the established perennial material gives a diverse effect unseen in standard landscapes. I appreciate the great care in design. Saw so many pollinators! Highly recommend a walkthrough.

This is a great place to visit! Plan to spend some time in the garden. It is well worth the admission price. Also check out the adjacent arboretum. It's free. You can see things such as a straw bale house in addition to all of the plants and flowers. It's a very nice leisurely price for a stroll. There is plenty of seating throughout the garden if you want to take some time to reflect or just need to take a break from walking. The folks in The visitor center are very helpful and will give you suggestions on various features.

This place is beautiful all year round and there is always something fun for the kids to do! This year we went to Garden Glow and saw Santa!

We loved seeing trees and discovering unknown plants..such as Strawberry Clover...we were deciding to go walk the 25 acres when nature made the call @ rain...friendly staff...you can walk, for free, thru the trees..but there's a charge to walk thru the flowers.

Really fun place. Games to play for kids and adults. Food is not ordinary and it’s good. Beer is some of theirs and some from other places. Great selection overall of everything.

First time there this afternoon, ordering was a bit awkward, but the food was really good. Got the Italian hoagie, bread was very nice but the onions and peppers could have been sautéed a bit more as they were still raw. It added a nice crunch tho. Got a flight with 2 beers and 2 ciders and really enjoyed it. It was 22 dollars for a flight and the big sandwich with chips, which is not bad at all!

Was there on Saturday for Hobo day and very busy. The owner was going around and taking empty cups, and I asked if I had to go to counter to order another beer and he kindly got me another one. This was our second time eating there on Hobo day and we really enjoy. Out two boys love the pretzel bites and like that we can play games. Keep up the great work.

Short version:Don’t go here if you value customer service.Long version:I’ve always loved Wooden Leg’s beer, trivia nights, board games, and original pizza flavors but was recently super disappointed. As a server/bartender, I always give the benefit of the doubt to service workers but feel this experience calls for my first review, at the risk of sounding like a “Karen”. I stopped 1.5 hours before closing time, ordered a pizza to go and a beer while I waited and read. I was the third customer upon arrival—so they weren’t busy—and quickly became the only customer. The customer service was non-existent (often the norm here, but the food/beer usually excuses it) as they weren’t friendly when ordering, grabbed my glass without asking if I wanted another drink (or anything else, such as my pizza), and resumed closing duties. After about 1.25 hours compounded with a fear of confrontation and the kitchen lights being shut off, I asked the bartender about my pizza. She said they never got the order (although I was charged and saw the cook preparing a pizza), couldn’t give me a refund, and couldn’t get ahold of a manager. She took my info and said someone would “hopefully” contact me. After two days and no word, I emailed and did immediately get a call that they processed the return yesterday along with the reward points I used, but again no reason for the mishap. As a local, repeat customer, I’m disappointed they didn’t go above and beyond with even a coupon or couple extra reward points, which would be the bare minimum where I’ve worked. If you’re able to get your food here, it’s totally worth the trouble; on principle, I’ll try to stay away. If anything, this review appeases the time wasted in a hangry state that Wooden Legs couldn’t with a coupon or explanation.

I would rate this place a 10+ if I could. Its 1.5hr drive with my big family. But the amount of fun the children are able to have there, and their parents to join with them is priceless! There is so many things to do. You definitely need a whole day there! It's a museum but also they get to do activities in every category area! Grocery shopping with real size items (boxes for example, they are empty) .. all produce products are really realistic! Painting, café shop, fixing cars, science related, post mail office, dinosaurs outside! And they can even go splash in the small pond outside! So many things to do, it's to much to list. Staff is extremely friendly. There is also a cafeteria inside the building when you get hungry. Or there is close by near fast food areas or restaurants near by. Yearly membership is also available which is a plus.

I attended a private event at this venue and it was SOOO cool! What an amazing space! We are planning to drive our family through SD for an upcoming vacation and will definitely plan to make a stop in Brookings so that the kids can experience the magic of this museum.

The museum itself if a wonderful place! The kids adore it and have such a great time! The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star is because of the cafe. This was our first experience at the cafe and it had pretty good reviews so we wanted to try it. I am not sure if this was an off day or they were training people, but it took almost 2 hours to get our food. The kids got a cheese quesadilla and a salad with only lettuce, ranch and egg. My boyfriend and both got chicken Alfredo. My boyfriend’s was very very cold and mine was slightly warm. I took his back and they put it in the microwave and his was slightly warm. After eating, my boyfriend and I both got very very sick and we believe it is from the food. I will return to the museum itself because I, and the kids love it but not the cafe!

We have been bringing grandchildren here for years, starting about age 1, the exhibits and activities are wonderful, truly wonderful, for YOUNG children; but there isn't much to interest middle-schoolers and teens. I recommend this destination for children under the age of ten.We were there today with preschool-aged children, after 4 hours they still had not been in half the rooms/exhibits, and had a wonderful time. But twice now I have seen pre-teens in there and they have trouble entertaining themselves there.

Wonderfully created for kids! One unique feature that this museum has is the working phones between businesses. Kids can call each other, in addition to the post office that has letters and packages that can be delivered to each business. Kids can actually take part in a world that was designed for them. Farm to grocery production, veterinary, mechanics, TV broadcasting and a diner. Easy to spend 1/2 to full day here with inside and out activities. Price is very reasonable and a food area is on site. Well done South Dakota!

The level of cleanliness was impressive, especially for a place that primarily caters to children. The staff were polite and engaging. The exhibits were varied enough that they kept our 1, 3, and 12 year olds happy for about 3 hours! We’ll definitely be back and plan to get a membership on our next trip.

Such a cool, fun Interactive museum. So Much to do indoor with so Many stations to explore the young minds. Different career exploration that they can Pretend to practice to be to open their mimds, from Farming, customer service, Mail man, Mechanic, news reporter and Much More. Outdoors they Archeology searching, Trail with a few gliders and a nice little play area where they can run around. This is a must go Back Place.

Since the weather was not cooperating and my daughter has a membership, the grandkids and I spent almost 4 hours at the museum. What a great place for kids of all ages! I had a one year old and a 7 year old and there were even young teenagers there enjoying themselves. I can't wait to go back and explore outside and take even more time. If you haven't been there yet, grab your kids and go!

So much fun! They do a really great job at keeping the facility clean and organized. The water room is my kids favorite!

Very fun and imaginative exhibits that will keep children (and adults) engaged and entertained. It does get a little crowded some weekends so if you are looking for a quieter experience you might want to pick a weekday. Okay... So the hotel staff is nice. My bed is hard as a rock... Even that isn't the end of the world. What kinda did it in for me was the shower. The shower tub had a crack in it that the staff just glued shut. The drain plug doesn't drain and the water came back up... Hairy and clogged. It was gross.

Always enjoy coming to this casino, great selection of slots to choose from, we went on a Sunday night so not busy at all. Love that they have drink stations to get yourself a soda or coffee, even iced coffee through the casino floor. We did not stay in the hotel this time so unable to give that a rating or my opinion. Would choose this casino over Grand falls anyday!

The rooms are very comfortable and nice. However, there was something wrong with the shower, barely any water came out. The sinks were really funky too, the water was kind of spraying everywhere. I went down to the pool and the water was extremely cold. It was like ice cold water from Alaska. The spa was great though; the hot tub. The food was delicious, we usually order out from here. Do something about your pool, I couldn’t even get in it; extremely cold.

Front desk evening lady rude on Feb 4th and not helpful, didn't seem interested in guest care at all. Pool and hot tub is down. Sunday buffet was not work $16 at all! And biggest advertisem*nt was ice cream LOL and the machine is broken, just ridiculous... other than that the rooms are nice and housekeeping does a very good job.

One bartender for the whole place, not very polite. Check in was amazing, very fast. Room was decent. The buffet was good. Did not have my salad dressing, 😐 the brisket was good, not enough items for the price. Did not win, or even come close. Maybe got into a feature 2x for every 3rd game. Betting in the middle and maybe received 100.00 on the very first initial feature and that was it. Betting high with my Husband and got the feature maybe 4 times. 120.00 win but already had 600.00 in...not a very good place to win.

We go out to Royal River frequently and always have a good time. The rooms are decently priced, the food is good, and we've done well playing the slots. The only real complaints I have are that it can be hard at times to find an open spot at a table, and there isn't much for options to eat after 10 pm. If you do get a spot at a table, you will find the dealers to be friendly and helpful. Remember to gamble responsibly, and if you're drinking, please don't drink and drive. Good luck to all who go out there.

The restaurant was ridiculous!! We got seated and told our waitress would be right with us, 25 minutes passed and nobody came to even ask what we wanted to drink. There was plenty of workers there and they all looked at us and didn't bother to come over. There was 4 girls that were doing absolutely nothing but standing there talking. The restaurant was very dirty, there was plenty for the workers to do but helping customers should be #1

The restaurant we visited was truly amazing. The store was also very nice. The employees all over, particularly Jessica, the supervisor of the Gift Shop were exceptionally professional & kind. Jessica's hard work, knowledge, & professionalism were outstanding. Her customer service was exceptional, too.

Unless your used to retirement home food I would stay away from the brunch buffet. I don't think I have seen less appealing food...dry eggs, dry old tater tots, no drip pan in the bacon so it was super greasy...I really could go on...if your looking to find someone who knows how to actually run your food and beverage department give me a shout....after all this, these are not the reasons for the poor review....As stated above we had the buffet and made it through one time...going back up to grab the few edible things on the line(the egg pan had been empty for atleast ten minutes at this point) there was a lady literally eating out of the food with her hands and then disregarding the tongs and scoops going back in to grab her serving if things tasted good...I was blown away by this lady's actions and immediately reported to multiple servers...I was told they were keeping an eye on it...but what concerned me the most is that there was zero effort to switch out the food...I waited 10 min to see if it happened...nothing...we promptly paid and left without an offer of a discounted meal seeing we didn't get to even enjoy your half hearted tainted buffet. All that said I understand you can't control people but to simply disregard health and safety standards you guys should be shut down immediately.

Been to this casino about four times on my travel route back home. Completely the worst casino ever for gambling. I’ve lost every single time no matter what machine or what I bet. I suggest if you come here to have fun, save your money and be happy you still have your money. Go to Walmart and have some fun spending your money on things you can keep. Figure if you come here four times, and never win once that says a lot.

Went for the steak dinner special and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. The portions were appropriate for the price. I'm not sure how to rate the service because there was NONE. I had to get our own drinks and when we were ready to leave, I had to go to the cashier and get my receipt and to-go box because we never saw a server from the time we got our food until we were leaving.

Wonderful place to visit and camp. Great to see living history. The big Jamboree is fun with seeing live exhibits going on, flea market, food truckers, tractor and car parades. Just walking through the old buildings seeing how people lived back then is wonderful. We have done multiple visits over the years. Price varies for special weekends and events so you my want to check their website first.

Enjoyed our visit very much. Being abke to step back in time and see real articles that were used in day to day life is simply amazing. Gives us a great appreciation for the modern conveniences and also the hard work individuals did back in the day. Lits of real prairie history to see here.

This is a great place to be! Lots of RV spaces yet still quiet and is well maintained, multiple bath houses, very friendly staff and lots and lots to explore! I would definitely recommend it!

This place was totally free to hike the trail and also to go inside and watch native carving and a very well put together museum. There’s quite a bit of parking, with restroom and some stuff for sale inside. It’s a circular trail with a couple off shoots that lead to fascinating things like old mines, rocks with old engravings, and even waterfalls! I enjoyed my adventure and will definitely go back with my kids sometime.. great job to the designers, architects, natives, and all the people that have contributed to the stellar setup! Thank you!

Pipestone is a magical and sacred place. The generosity of the indigenous tribes to have their sacred site open to the public is a gift of love. The visitors center is beautifully curated with big opportunities for learning and growth by all generations. The trail through the quarries is an easy walk with very clearly marked signs guiding visitors to take in the beauty. This site is fully accessible to all abilities. My children had a great time, learned so much, and appreciated the opportunity to speak with the pipe makers and artisans.A note to white skinned visitors: stay on the trails, do not presume to wander into the quarry sites and touch peoples equipment or the stones, and pick up your dog's poop and dispose of it. Would you do any of these activities when visiting a church? Respect and courtesy go a long way. You are visitor on sacred land. Behave that way.Migwech

We made the best random stop here. The timing was off as it was a wind advisory but that didn't stop us. We did the circle trail. It was so so so beautiful so much history and beauty.

Very fun and informative. A small hike is available to old stone face and the falls. Don't worry. A majority of the hike is paved. There is a small gift shop at the monument. But, the best part is that there's native art makers there to talk to and show you the wonderful pieces they make.

This was so much more than I anticipated due to the very kind folks explaining and performing their craft of carving and shaping the Pipestone. There were also very informative stations, a great short film and beautiful (paved) trails winding through the area. A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Had a great time walking around Pipestone National Monument! It is a nice walk and you get to see some cool structures, a water fall, and lots of prairies. A great place to check put if you are traveling in that area! We decided to go last minute and didn't regret the choice.

Take the guided tour of the quarry area to better understand the pipestone rock / pipe making story, as our guide Park Ranger Natalie rocked it, otherwise you may not understand what you are seeing. Visitor Center had a good mix of displays, artisans, movie, and other items. Favorite was the loop walk through the natural rock outcroppings and waterfall. My daughter had fun earning her Park Ranger Junior badge through all the activities in the booklet you pickup from the desk. Make sure to stop by the three maidens.

Unexpectedly a fantastic place to visit. The walking trails were great, and the visitors center had a lot to offer, including a gift shop and demonstrations. It is clear that this is a sacred site, and it was an honor to be able to visit. The hours are not quite what maps says but it gives time to walk the trails before opening.

Beautiful and informative. We didn't know what to expect when we pulled up, but this was a great stop on our road trip. A nice visitor's center has great information on the area and live demonstrations of people creating with pipestone. Make sure to go on a good weather day when you can take advantage of the trails! We did the short, paved trail and our kids loved exploring the area. The waterfall is beautiful and the rock formations are very cool.

Great little stop. 2 nice walking trails (shorter) (maybe 45m or 1mile) to a fun waterfall and quartz walls. The visitors center was also small but very nice … loved the local Native Americans who were there demonstrating or talking about their craft / trade of pipe carving, turtle carving and use of seeds and flowers for teas (medicine man). Was also fun they had a local zoo showing some local animals visiting … appreciate the extra effort by park to create a nice experience and education for guests

My family and I truly loved visiting the Pipestone National Monument. The exhibits in the visitors center were amazing and the staff were so welcoming and nice. A few people even shared their processes of how they make pipestone pipes. We also enjoyed walking the trail and seeing the different plants, trees, rocks and the waterfall. Would love to go again.

This place is incredible! They have so much to look out inside the visitor center. Best part, it is free! They do have a donation box on the inside if you would like to contribute. There are live pipestone working demonstrations. This makes for a great experience. The trail is very beautiful and an easy stroll.

A nice, pet friendly walking path. The artisans were very interesting; the artwork being produced was beautiful. And a BARK Ranger destination to boot!😊

Definitely a beautiful place, lots of nice history, just know it's a small park. Can be hiked and walk through the museum in about an hour 15.

Found out this was a historical building that has been transformed into a shop that displays and sells native made items. Also had a friendly conversation with the proprietor about the history of the building and surrounding area.

Beautiful little shop in a historic building that used to serve as a shelter when people were waiting for the train. Great choice of pipestone work and other local handcrafted objects of high quality. Very friendly service.

Beautiful variety: from high end, stunning pipes and a few rings and necklaces, to raw pipestone (red and black), small hand tools, other DYI bits and pieces, and screen-print t-shirts. Owner was a quarrier and shared his extensive knowledge and wonderful stories from his own history and that of his tribal community. Definitely worth stopping and finding something for yourself and to gift.

Bud was very knowledgeable and such a joy to visit with. We really enjoyed learning more about Native American culture and the work that Bud does. A must stop and see especially after visiting the Pipestone monument!

Wonderful day with Bud learning how to carve a traditional pipe. He was a patient and knowledgeable teacher. The gift shop has a fantastic collection of pipes for sale in addition to a wide range of other Native American-crafted items. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic State Park! We came to do the hiking club trail while camping at Blue Mounds state park. A nice quick 2 mile walk, great views in the woods, prairies, and the lake/creek! We for sure want to come back and bring our camper here along with our kayaks!

We stayed at your campground for 4th of July weekend, and for the most part, we enjoyed our experience. The staff at the office were nice, the trails were groomed, and the beach a great for a hot day.However, the campground host was inconsistently enforcing rules, and not doing it politely (I don’t think that’s too much to ask).When he approached our campsite to tell us to move the vehicle, polite is the last word I would use to describe him.When looking into the park when deciding to come here, most, if not all, of the negative reviews were about the host. When it comes to negative reviews, we like to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it out anyway. I’m sad to say that my family was disappointed to find out those negative reviews were true.The campground host is the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review.

Not one of Minnesota's larger state parks, but in this case size doesn't matter !! Try to get here once/year and have never been disappointed. I always bring a kayak with me and have a great time. Also do a little hiking and some pic taking. Give it a try !!

It's a small, well kept park. The hiking club trail was well mowed and in good shape. Coming from Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, it's more like a county park.

Lots of bugs! The sites are close together, but most of them have some trees in between for privacy. Very clean bathroom and showers. Two showers, one handicapped and one regular. Plenty of handicapped camp sites. There is a hiking path that goes behind some of the camp sites. I wasn’t a fan of that, only because my dog barks at everyone. There is a beach and fishing pier as well.

Small park with a very small lake formed by old dam. Historic water tower. Short hikes. Has fishing docks, fish cleaning station, campground with a dump station, a playground and a beach. Felt more like a county park.

We stayed for 3 nights in campground. Campsites are roomy with lots of trees between sites so creates privacy. Several trails to hike and several docks to fish from. We ended up not kayaking but could have easily spent a day out on the lake. Great beach and picnic areas.

There are may nice things to this park. Has a nice swim area with sand volleyball, the water looks pretty clean. It has a nice picnic area with fishing piers. The campground looks is small but real nice with a small playground and it is right on the lake. Also has a boat access and fish cleaning shelter. Park is very small and not much to it but it is very well upkept and maintained. Very surprising for a park like this that can get overlooked. Not really any hiking trails but the lake is the highlight for a lake less sw mn.

The park is small and quiet. Campsites are spacious and private, which we appreciate. The bathrooms/showerhouses are clean and bright. We enjoyed the beach, hiking, playground, and fishing areas. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful State Park. So many things to do. Something for everyone from fishing, kayaking, swimming, bocce and hiking. The bathrooms were extremely clean and the showers were hot. This would be the perfect location for a family reunion.

Nice walking trails. Odd picnic areas with no trash cans. Cool dam, but with the drought there was no water going over it.

I enjoyed hiking here; as many have said and as the pictures here make evident, it's a pretty place. I've put 4/5 however for two reasons. First is that I don't recall there being bathrooms; they might have been located on the side with the campground opposite, but I didn't camp. Secondly is moreso personal, as even seeing the bridge, I faced it anyway despite my fear of heights. It may have been my mind, but why is it jiggly grating? A sign mentioned erosion though, so perhaps they don't want to damage the area making something more formidable. It has to be a strong bridge with all it's use, I'm just... Be wary if you have a fear of heights.

Even though we could not see more the the visitors center and the jump site, this place is still worth a visit, and the gentleman who was manning the visitors center sure did a good job explaining this historical significance of this place. The trails here are NOT HCA but the Visitor Center is and with some caution we made it to the jump site.

It took us 2h admiring those beautiful rocks & taking a lot of pictures.It was Sunday & Gate was closed though :/ yyy…

Truly a hidden gem and it’s free . If you from Minnesota and you do a trip out to rapid city don’t pass this spot . Amazing place to stretch the legs out and walk around . You can walk the trail around it pretty quick 45 mins or less . Also there’s a lot of history with Jessi James . My only question is why haven’t you gone yet

Cutting through the South Dakota prairie, Devils gulch is a enchanting town park. With a short, rocky trail around the gulch, it’s an moderate short hike. Picnic area included.

Was a great day to drive and hike this fun small park that has history with Jessie James, lot of photo opportunities and great fresh air while walking. You need to come and witness this bright spot here in the Garretson SD. there plenty of park benches to set and observe the beauty of this place.So pick a nice day and time to hike the trails.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a state park! The employees were super helpful when we tried (and failed) to find the water area to swim in. The rock formations from the river were absolutely astounding and incredibly beautiful. We had so much fun and will definitely be returning again! There were so many hiking trails you could follow that made it still hiking, but also safe enough for just everyone to walk through. There were some tall structures you were able to "rock climb" to the top of and the view was amazing. I have shared multiple pictures of the magnificent landscape!

Absolutely stunning area to go hang out for the day. Beautiful vegetation and a very clean and welcoming park. The camping area and cabins look awesome and are affordable. Im excited about future visits to the park. I took my drone with me for the 1st time and got some amazing video and pictures.

Just a beautiful park. There is camping, looks like electric hookups only, no water or sewage but attractive sites. There are not long trails but the trails there are pretty with good views of the water and the rock cliffs and Palisades. We have never camped there but would do so. There was a play area for kids and they seemed to be enjoying it.

Palisades is open all year round. As you would expect, facilities and camp sites are shut down to pit toilets and a handful of campsites. Water is also shut down. The pads are asphalt and long. No problem getting the longest RV into these sites with room for that tow vehicle. I like the sound of trains; this is a great campgrounds to hear horns and listen to those diesel engines power up. While there (later part of March), we saw deer roaming throughout the park. FULL DISCLOSURE: There are mountain lions in the area; no one has been bothered by them, though. We talked with a couple that lived ½ mile from the campgrounds, and they showed us a picture they took that morning of a paw print. They had placed a dollar bill under the paw print, and the print was as large as the bill.They have walking trails and swimming locations (Rock Creek). They also have shear rock formations where climbers practice technical maneuvers and repelling. They have an exceptionally large day area use location with huge playgrounds and covered picnic areas. They also have a balcony area on one picnic shelter that over looks the creek , swimming hole, and rock climbing area. The town of Garretson is roughly a couple of miles away where you can resupply if necessary. I messed up my reservation (I picked a tent camping location instead of a camper location), and a park employee (John) bent over backward to help us out. He even opened a closed site to accommodate us. WOW, THANK YOU, JOHN!

This park has a smaller quiet campground with some nice trails. Shower house is in excellent condition and kept very clean. Vault toilets are also well maintained. A skylight in the roof would have been appreciated, bring a flashlight when you need to go.All but 3 sites look great. I got one of the three. Sites 26, 27, 28 should be listed as tent only, or as a road side parking spot. Grassy area was sloped beyond reasonable leveling. Even the pavement was sloped both front to back AND left to right. Our site #28 was the worst. Only level shade was between the camper and tow vehicle. We brought the picnic table up to the camper were some items would roll away from us.No camp store but easy drive to Devils Gulch, groceries, and Sioux Falls.

Nice rock structures to admire, climb on, and take pics around. Nice views. Take the short hike across the old bridge and along the river, over the rocks. Note the pink granite you see everywhere is the same shade as the local highways near and far.

Trails can be slick be prepared.Nice playgrounds at campsites. Bathrooms scattered throughout. There are plenty of picnic tables in different locations.

AWE INSPIRING, I could walk the trails, see the sights a hundred times and still be in awe and wonder over what God has created. We camped on a non electric site, everything was very beautiful and they are doing good work to make it even better. An amazing spot to get away for the weekend and very close to I-90

I called and reserved a campsite using the online number offered by their website. It was fast and simple. I wanted a cabin but was thrilled with a campsite where I had a nice little fire from the wood I bought at the entrance. 12$ for a good 4 hr fire. Sites were fairly private and it was quiet and serene. They had free hot showers and flush toilets! Everything and everywhere was clean and kept up. I was impressed and for 36$(campsite)+ 8$(car pass). I will go back more often! Famous story of Jesse James and the leap at Devils Gulch… great family place and easy to get to! Great job to the curators and employees..

Camped here for a week. Great campground, great host, and absolutely gorgeous. By far one of the biggest and most scenic campgrounds I've been to. I love how the fire rings are not right next to the camper pad.

Beautiful state park! Be on the look out for snakes, we saw over a dozen in one area. But overall, a great place to hike with cool views. There are also restrooms available near the parking lot.

I've seen others post about this park and always wanted to visit. It's absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen a park so well maintained, yet keep the natural beauty of nature. It's almost like going vack in time. Walking the trails is easy and has plenty picnic tables to stop and take in the views. It's seriously such a perfect place to do a bunch of things, although it isn't huge....it's calm, peaceful, and beautiful. I will be back.

This is a beautiful state park and well worth the $8 admission, regardless if you're staying over night or simply taking a short afternoon stroll on one of the three trails. When I visited it wasn't over crowded, but I also went in the middle of the week on a day that was 100 degrees. And despite these often crowd limiting factors, I still encountered plenty of people. I must admit, the people were not on the trail. They were in the water, at the camp sights, and on the bridge. However, I was never out of earshot of people talking, kids playing, and campsite noise. Nice but not quiet. Pretty but also pretty small. Worth a visit, but I would not go on a weekend or higher traffic time.The facilities seemed well taken care of.

Very great place to bring family! There is a park but it's for kids 2-5 years old. The climbing is great! Got a couple climvs in while there. Would recommend :)

GORGEOUS trails for hiking with your dog(s)! We, of course, were out here in late fall, so we had the park COMPLETELY to ourselves! It has beautiful rocky trails if you have the ability to climb, and mountain goat dogs, but it also has a mowed grassy path all around the campground if you want an easier trail, and a completely paved, one-way road all around the site that you can also walk if you would want to, since it's a 10 mph speed limit. You basically have no reason to stay in your RV if you camp here! Plus, there's at least one, SUPER GREAT playground for the kiddos! (I have to admit, my "child" is 21, so I wasn't paying much attention, but this one was so awesome it was hard to miss!)

Well worth the stop! The creativity and size of some of these pieces is truly breathtaking. If you are fortunate enough to meet the artist you'll be able to ask him about his creations and hear stories about his process and methods. If you struggle with mobility or walking on uneven surfaces, golf carts are available so that you can enjoy each piece up close. You'll definitely come away with lots of great photos!

I enjoyed this stop very much, as did Ava. So much thought and creativity shown in these sculptures and writings. Wayne was so kind and interesting to speak with too. I appreciated being able to bring my dog along as well.

A perfect spot to enjoy odd creativity. The art is well maintained, as it's outside. Some are large and others small. All are accompanied by poems or explanations. The artist is there for conversation.

Wayne Porter is an amazing artist. It was cool to chat with him about his art. I think between my husband and I we talked his ear off but he seemed like he enjoyed the conversation. Very polite and in all was a great experience. I can’t wait to see more art in the coming years if he gets more done. I told him he needs to add more and we got details on a new piece he’s doing so can’t wait to see it. This is a spot that doesn’t take a lot of time to go through and it’s a nice path to walk on so it’s a stop you must take if going through this area.

Great place to visit with family,friends or alone. Wayne has created very unique sculptures. You cannot miss seeing the big Bull's head from I-90! His last addition to the Park is the horse which took 10 yrs to finish and then has great stories of its long journey to his Sculpture Park! I stop every time I'm in South Dakota!

Porter Sculpture Park is an easy and fantastic stop on a road trip.It’s just off the beaten path with east access from I-90. Take the dirt road through a farm, passing by some photo-worthy cows, until you reach a gravel parking area.We were fortunate to meet the sculptor and learn a little more about him and his art before exploring the park.In addition to the unique, quirky, and impressive sculptures throughout the park there are short poems / stories posted along the way.TIP: don’t miss the board in the parking area. We liked that one the most!We found it well worth the price of admission (and would never expect anyone to provide something like this to the public at their own expense) for a fun and quirky road side stop.

This is a very interesting place to visit. Wayne Porter is a very talented man! Not only is there amazing art to see there is equally amazing poetry! Wayne is usually there to answer any questions you may have. They also have golfcarts for those who cannot walk the grounds. Plenty of parking even for RV. If you are on the area definitely check this place out!

Stopped by this place along the HWY to ✅ it out! Met the artist and found the place to be absolutely amazing!!! Who knew in the middle of nowhere such a place existed! As you can see the sculpture has real artistic talent and we were blessed to have discovered it by random chance on the way to Mitchell, SD!!

Easily spotted from Interstate 90, you will find an eclectic collection of sculptures and poetry created by Wayne Porter. This sculpture garden is well worth the trip and the cost of entry. Wayne was on site when we visited and was very friendly and engaging. Here is an opportunity to support a local artist. While walking through the field, be sure to stop and read the poetry. Some of it explains a piece, some are just a peak into a creative mind. The garden is also a Harvest host site so you weary travelers can stop by for a night and also enjoy the art. Entry is on $10/person.

super awesome!!! went with my dad based off a recommendation from a friend. we were busy hauling our own sculptures to DC and i’m so glad we stopped here!! wayne was super nice and let us in for free because we had our own art with us. the sculptures and poems were awesome and i felt like i could connect to them. my favorite was definitely the bull and the red robed guys!! so stunning and awesome. though i will say, if you’re not ready for darker themes, maybe not the place for you LOL !! overall loved it. would definitely visit again. 🫶

Perhaps one of the greatest roadside stops on the highways of America! Not only is it a glimpse into the brilliant mind of the creator, it is a fun way to spend the afternoon!The $10 admission was well worth it to us, some of the things we've paid way more to see can't come close to what we saw along the path in the grassy plains of South Dakota! The massive steel sculptures and creations capture your imagination and take you on a journey. Some are downright creepy, some are extremely bizarre, some are weirdly interesting and some are breathtaking! Many of the poetry boards that compliment the sculptures will leave you scratching your head and a few will leave you with a smile on your face!The photo opportunities are endless and the grassy path through the sculptures is a nice nature walk. Pets are welcome to come along, our little one had a ball climbing on the colorful creations, he thought they were there for him!A definite must stop on the Highway 90 in South Dakota, I mean, what else is there to do?!
